Image analysis with Atlas

The Atlas tool enables the model of an organ to be applied to a digital slide so the organ’s anatomical regions can be accurately identified. This tool is especially used for the segmentation of complex structures, particularly in neuroscience.


The protocol :

The stages of image analysis using the Atlas algorithm are as follows :

  • Creation of vectorial anatomical plates from Atlas.
  • Working with images in CaloPix 
    After the vectorized file has imported into CaloPix, different functionalities are available to the user so that anatomical structures in Atlas can be matched to the underlying image: translation, resizing, rotation and local alteration.

Regions of analysis (ROA) are created automatically from anatomical structures identified on slides. These are constituted in Atlas via a process of superimposing. The user can either create a region of analysis for each selected structure or a one that groups together several structures.
